BDP offers customizable solutions for almost any industry that relies on the use of plastics. BDP's PVA plastics are stronger and more durable than other bio-plastics. 

BDP plastics perform at the same level as traditional plastics in products such as grocery and garbage bags, where the majority of bio-plastics fail.  Cost is an important consideration when it comes to bio-plastics, with most bio-plastics pricing much higher than traditional plastics.  BDP has made great strides to develop cost effective bio-plastics.  Our pricing is much lower than most bio-plastics and even competitive with traditional plastics.  BDP plastics are suitable for a wide range of applications including soft, formable products such as bags to rigid products like toys and sporting goods.

With the cost of most bio-plastics far exceeding that of traditional plastics, BDP’s technology team set out to innovate new, low-cost biodegradable plastic materials to replace traditional plastics.  The result was a high-quality, cost competitive plastic with the flexibility to be used in a broad range of applications.  Starch Modified Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) is one BDP’s key technologies and can be used to produce a wide range of common and customizable products.  Furthermore, in many applications, the green solutions that accompany our products provide an overall cost savings to the customer.

PVA Plastics:

Biodegradable PVA

Can be composted and degrades quickly when exposed to a normal compost environment. The final by‐products of degradation are H2O, CO2, and biomass. This material is ideal for use in the consumer packaging, IC, medical and consumer electronics sectors.

Water-soluble PVA

Dissolves in water at a room temperature and rapidly dissolves at temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.  Hydro‐degradation does not leave any residue and fully dissolves at both temperatures.


The unique characteristics of BDP’s plastics render value beyond just low cost bio-plastics for certain industries and applications.  Our plastics are suitable for most applications manufactured with blow molding, injection molding, and extrude hollow blow molding processes.

Beijing Sino Japanese Hospital

The Beijing Sino Japanese Hospital uses BDP’s hydro-soluble bags for the collection of laundry and other surgery room washables.  Prior to using our product, the hospital employed a complex process that required costly disposal of contaminated laundry bags.  By using water-soluble bags, they were able to eliminate bag disposal altogether.  Furthermore, the hospital workers no longer had to risk contamination while removing the laundry from the bag as they were able to simply put the entire bag in the washing machine.  We were able to help the Sino Japanese Hospital better protect their staff, reduce process time by 50%, lower costs due to waste disposal, and eliminate harmful materials from the environment.
